The mission of St. Joseph's Faith Formation Office is in conformity with the Church of Crookston, the Universal Church, and Jesus Christ Himself; namely, to extend the Kingdom of God by assisting faith conversion, by furthering growth in holiness and a sense of ministry within the people of God at all ages through the proclamation of the Good News, by teaching its message, and by promoting its values.
Curriculum
Our catechists teach from the Loyola Press curriculum, Christ Our Life.

Typically, children recieve the sacrament of Reconciliation when they reach the age of reason, which is 7. This usually coincides with 2nd grade.
Parents, as their children's primary teachers, are expected to teach at home, supported by our program. During the fall we work with families to prepare children to recieve their first Reconciliation, which happens in December. During the winter, we work with families to prepare children to recieve their first Holy Eucharist, which occurs the first weekend of May.
There are required parent meetings for both sacraments, as well as required retreats for children.
