Fundraisers

Youth grades 6-12 who participate in a fundraiser will receive funds in their individual fundraising account. Youth grades 6-12 will be able to participate in all fundraisers throughout the year. Preference will be given to youth participating in a large group upcoming event such as Steubenville North or a Mission Trip.

There are two goals of the St. Joe’s Youth Ministry Fundraising Accounts:

1. To insure that all youth have the ability to afford large youth ministry sponsored events with adequate enough time to financially plan and prepare.
2. To insure fairness. Those who participate in youth ministry related fundraisers will receive financial assistance, and those who choose to not participate in youth ministry related fundraisers will pay full cost.

• RE Faith Formation Tuition
• Outside events such as events put on by other parishes
• St. Joseph’s School events
• General St. Joseph’s Parish Event Expenses

Accounts will retain dollars until the fall after the youth graduates from high school. If the youth has a sibling, the balance will roll into their siblings account.  If the youth doesn’t have younger siblings, the balance will roll into a Youth Ministry Fundraising Account used to help offset youth event costs. Youth will not be given permission to roll their balance into another youth’s account other than siblings.

To utilize an account balance towards the cost of a youth ministry event the youth will fill out the appropriate Fundraiser Dollars Request Form.

1. Butter Braids: The sale will run February 18 -March 3.  Butter braid Delivery is Monday, March 25 The price for each Butter Braid is $13.Youth earn $4.50 for each Butter Braid sold. In order to sell Butter Braids, you need to sign up HERE. 

2. Knights of Columbus Fish Fry. Fridays February 16, February 23, March 1, March 8, March 15, March 22. Youth and parents are needed to help serve the Fish Fry from 4:45-7:30 p.m. Youth grades 6-12 and parents will receive $25 per Fish Fry. Sign up HERE

3. Bounce in the Valley (can be community service or fundraising. If fundraising, make sure to note that in the comments. You will earn $30 per shift. You must be 14+ to work.)  Youth and adults are needed to supervise Games to Go bounce houses and obstacle courses. This is a fun event if you like kids. Located at the Red River Fair Grounds. Saturday, March 9. Two shifts available, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. or 12:00-3:00 p.m. Sign up HERE.

4. Spring Bake Sale: Youth receive a percentage of the earnings based on how many batches they make. For example, 1 batch of cookies, 1 batch of muffins, 1 loaf of bread, 1 cake.  Youth also receive credit for every Mass that they work. This bake sale is free will offering. Sign up HERE.

5. Father Daughter Dance: Saturday, May 11, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Youth are needed to set up on Friday May 10 in the evening, decorate, prepare snacks, help at the dance, clean up, and sell tickets. Youth will receive a certain percentage based on how much they work, and how many tickets they sell.

6. Climb for a Cause: Date TBT but often this takes place in June. For this fundraiser, parishioners are invited to give a donation numbered 1-100. Youth speak at all Masses and talk to parishioners after all Masses. Following the fundraiser. All youth who have participated in a fundraiser over the past year and who are attending a camp or conference the coming summer or fall receive a percentage of the profits. Youth need to stop at the parish office to write thank you cards to parishioners who donated in order to receive funds.
